  • Chairman of the Cook County Health and Hospitals Committee 

  • Vice-Chairman of the Cook County Health Board

  • Declared Racism a Public Health Crisis

    This brought the office of equity and inclusion to Cook County 

  • Declared Gun Violence a Public Health Crisis in Cook County and Nationally

    The legislation added 1 million dollars to Cook County Health Budget to address trauma from Gun violence 

  • Declared Mental Health Public Health Crisis

    Led to Cook County Putting 60 Million of ARPA into Cook County Health Budget for Mental Health 

    Declared Juneteenth and Offical County Holiday 

  • Declared May Mental Health Awareness Month and May 19th as Mental Health Awareness Day in Cook County 

  • Helped lead the effort to get 24/7 services at the domestic violence court for victims of domestic violence which is scheduled to start in April 2022

  • Assisted in leading the effort to nearly double the jury duty stipend for Jury service

  • Amended the human rights code and required all employees under the president's office to take sexual harassment training classes once per year

  • Legislated and started the cook county commission on small business supplier diversity to assist minority and women-owned businesses with policy issues as well as work closely with contract compliance to assist small business owners

  • Legislated Cook County youth day

  • Legislated Census Commission

  • Co-Founded the North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council (NLCCC)

  • Board Member for the National Institute of Health (NIH) 

  • Annual 2nd District Senior Luncheon 

  • Annual 2nd District Toy Drive and Give Away 

  • New Covenant CDC (Board President)

  • National Organization of Black County Officials (Board Member)

  • Strategic Human Services (Board Member) (North Lawndale Newspaper)

  • Participated in and gave away over 5000 food boxes and care packages during the pandemic to people in underserved communities

Economic Development.

Promoting the advancement of economic development with policies that leverage existing relationships within the community, in order to develop new and meaningful jobs throughout the 2nd District of Cook County.


Advocating for expanded access to affordable healthcare as a human right for every resident of Cook County. 

Public Safety.

Creating strong policies that foster criminal justice reform and supporting community based programs aimed at reducing recidivism, jail and detention center costs that empower all residents to become productive members of society by restoring their human rights.

Health & Hospitals:
Resolution Declaring Racism and Racial Inequalities a Public Health Crisis in Cook County.

Small Business Commission:
With the disparities of minority contractors/vendors that are doing business with the County, this Commission was created to increase minority participation on contracts.

Census Commission:
An ordinance to establish the Complete Count of the Cook County population knowing that there hard to count areas.

Cook County Youth Day:

Youth Day Consists of youth from all over the County joining their Commissioners to learn about the importance of civic engagement.

Sexual Harassment:
Amendment to Ordinance 
An amendment request for additional mandatory training for employees of Cook County.
