This brought the office of equity and inclusion to Cook County

Declared Gun Violence a Public Health Crisis in Cook County and Nationally
The legislation added 1 million dollars to Cook County Health Budget to address trauma from Gun violence

Declared Mental Health Public Health Crisis
Led to Cook County Putting 60 Million of ARPA into Cook County Health Budget for Mental Health
Declared Juneteenth and Offical County Holiday

Declared May Mental Health Awareness Month and May 19th as Mental Health Awareness Day in Cook County

Helped lead the effort to get 24/7 services at the domestic violence court for victims of domestic violence which is scheduled to start in April 2022

Assisted in leading the effort to nearly double the jury duty stipend for Jury service

Amended the human rights code and required all employees under the president's office to take sexual harassment training classes once per year
-
Legislated and started the cook county commission on small business supplier diversity to assist minority and women-owned businesses with policy issues as well as work closely with contract compliance to assist small business owners

They are geared to assist in structuring legislation to address critical issues on the County Board.
